3dsense Media School Celebrated its 10th Anniversary with CG Hero Awards
The awards recognized and honored alumni who have made exceptional contributions to the computer graphics and entertainment industry
Singapore – 21 June 2013 – 3dsense Media School in Singapore, ranked as the top 10 CG school outside the US and UK by 3D World, turns 10 this June. To mark the milestone, the school launched the inaugural CG Hero Awards, held on 20 June 2013 in Singapore. More than 350 guests attended the prestigious event, which kicked-off with an awards ceremony followed by an exclusive premiere screening of Pixar’s “Monsters University”.

Mr. Shuzo Shiota, President & CEO, Polygon Pictures, was the guest-of-honour for the CG Hero Awards and was invited to make the welcome speech as well as present the awards to the winners. The occasion saw alumni, industry professionals, partners and stakeholders come together to celebrate the school’s 10-year journey in developing talents for the digital media industry and fostering the digital art community in the region.
Since the inception of 3dsense Media School in 2003, many alumni have achieved significant accomplishments, having worked on major Hollywood movies as well as AAA games. The CG Hero Awards is an inaugural award that aims to recognize these exceptional contributions to the media and entertainment industry.
“This celebration is really a tribute to all our alumni, who have contributed to the growth of the computer graphics and entertainment industry over the last 10 years,” said Mr. Sen Lai, Principal & CEO of 3dsense Media School. “Their success proves that Singapore today can truly boast a robust eco-system for producing CG talent for the global market. Looking forward, we hope to continue to be the institution of choice for the new generation of passionate students.”

A total of 21 awards were presented to outstanding alumni of 3dsense Media School. 20 CG Hero Awards were decided through nominations by notable studios in the region and then a final selection by the school’s panel. The People’s Choice Award was determined by online voting via facebook whereby the public voted for their favourite CG Hero. Each award winners received a custom-made “CG Hero” statuette, specially designed and sculpted by renowned local artist Julian Khor for the CG Hero Alumni Awards.

Since inception in 2003, 3dsense Media School has been training students for jobs in Film, Games, Animation and Design.
