3D Animator

Job Description

Pop Paper City is an exciting new 3D children’s show airing on broadcasters around the world, including the UK. We are currently recruiting to expand our team, and we are on the look for an array of positions.

Artists with a background in Cinema 4D are preferred but training will be provided for users of other 3D softwares such as Maya.

We are looking for team members who have enthusiasm, are great team players with great skills, and are keen to work with us for the duration of the series, and ongoing future series.

You’ll work alongside a talented and diverse group of people in a beautiful setting on the South Coast.

Key Responsibilities 

• Managing your workload and completing the shots allocated to you on time.
• Ensuring your work is communicating clearly from blocking through to final animation.
• Checking the work of your team members to ensure that there are no errors before it is passed to the Director for review
• Monitoring and maintaining the workflow of your team and flagging any potential issues to the Production Management team

Required Skills 

• Fluent in using Cinema 4D (or equivalent) for character animation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of character animation from blocking to polish.
• Familiarity with using various types of 3D rigs.
• Excellent understanding of body mechanics, performance and strong posing.
• Ability to find creative solutions to a problem.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to monitor your team’s performance
• Artistic skills would be extremely beneficial but not essential
• A strong grasp of film language in order to tell the story in the most efficient and impactful way possible

Required Experience

• A showreel which demonstrates the above requirements
• Having performed tasks associated with a team lead would be a bonus.
• 3+ years experience in a middle-weight or senior position working on a film / television production
